At Manticore Marketing, some of our most meaningful partnerships are the ones that grow steadily over time. Our relationship with TechCXO is one of those partnerships.

For more than three years, we’ve had the opportunity to work closely with Mike Casey, Co-Founder of TechCXO and Managing Partner of CXO Partners. What began as technical website support has grown into a long-term collaboration built on trust, consistency, and shared commitment to execution.

Recently, Mike sat down with us to reflect on the partnership and the role marketing execution has played in supporting the firm’s continued growth.

Turning Strategy Into Execution

From Mike’s perspective as a founder, marketing plays a very practical role inside the business. Strategy only matters if it can be executed consistently.

“As a co-founder, my thoughts about marketing and its importance have to do with being the execution side of the firm’s strategy. And so having a partner like Manticore to help in a pragmatic way deliver the execution side of our strategy… is crucial to the growth of our business.”

When TechCXO first engaged our team, the firm was growing quickly and its website had become increasingly complex. Leadership needed technical expertise paired with clear communication and dependable follow-through.

Our early work focused on strengthening the technical foundation of the website while helping ensure their digital presence reflected the caliber of expertise TechCXO brings to its clients.

Over time, the relationship evolved beyond technical execution into a collaborative working partnership. Weekly conversations between our teams created space for candid discussion, practical problem-solving, and shared accountability.

Mike emphasized how important that openness has been at the leadership level, noting that having a partner you can speak candidly with builds the confidence needed to continue investing in growth initiatives.

That trust allowed our role to expand naturally as TechCXO’s needs evolved.

One of the most significant milestones came during TechCXO’s large-scale website migration, a project involving more than 600 pages and multiple stakeholders across the organization.

Projects of that size require both technical coordination and strategic oversight. Our team worked closely with theirs to manage the transition while maintaining performance and positioning the site for future growth.

The success of that project strengthened the partnership and marked a turning point in how we worked together moving forward.

As TechCXO continued to scale, our involvement expanded beyond the website into broader marketing initiatives, including SEO, advertising, and ongoing strategic collaboration.

When CXO Partners launched, Mike and his team chose to continue that relationship, extending the same partnership into the new brand and future initiatives. Being invited to support both organizations has been incredibly meaningful for our team and speaks to the trust built over years of collaboration.

When asked what he would miss most if the partnership ended, Mike’s answer captured the evolution of the relationship best.

“Without Manticore, I would miss the trusted advisor role that they’ve grown to play with TechCXO and CXO Partners.”

For leadership teams, knowing that strategy will reliably translate into execution creates space to focus on growth rather than oversight. That confidence has been a defining part of the partnership.
